Project Goal

The Autarq Solar Roof Configurator allows users to anonymously determine the suitability of a roof for solar roof tiles as well as the material and installation costs. Users receive a cost estimate, forecast of energy yield and degree of self-sufficiency based on location, roof type and electricity consumption - without registration.

What we did

Architecture of the backend, design API contracts, collaboration with frontend developers, implementation and operation of the backend as microservices in the customer data center.

How-To configurator

  1. Determine power requirements

The configurator allows users to obtain a cost estimate and yield forecast without the need to register or log in.

  2. Fast cost estimate

Algorithms that take into account parameters such as location, roof details and annual energy consumption are used to estimate the cost of materials and installation.

  3. Calculating the energy yield

The tool calculates the potential energy yield and the degree of self-sufficiency of the solar roof in order to provide a realistic estimate of the electricity savings and long-term profitability.

Our solution

The configurator uses advanced calculation algorithms that allow users to quickly get an accurate idea of the costs and potential energy yield. This first step in the planning of a solar roof makes the decision to install much easier. The user is guided intuitively through the process and all relevant data is included in the calculation. Users are given the opportunity to create an initial non-binding calculation and forecast the yield of their potential solar roof. This estimate can later be transferred to more detailed planning processes.

Summary of the project

The Autarq Solar Roof Configurator is a powerful tool that enables customers to anonymously and easily obtain an initial estimate of the costs and energy yield of a solar roof project. Simple and quick to use, the configurator makes it easier to access important information and supports the decision-making process when planning a solar roof.

Example applicationPlanning Tool

Planning Tool Overview

  • 10,000+ Deals Created

  • 10+ manufacturers on board

  • Increase in revenue potential

  • Time savings in quote generation of up to 75%

  • 100+ sales professionals daily

  • Perfect integration into your CRM

What we did

In close collaboration with Autarq, in-depth concepts were developed and processes were carefully coordinated, while valuable insights were gathered. Based on this, we implemented the entire solution technically to create a product that integrates seamlessly into workflows while delivering reliable forecasts.

Project Goal

The Autarq Planning Tool supports sales representatives in creating precise and personalized offers for solar roof projects. It uses detailed roof and location data to provide accurate cost estimates and yield forecasts.

Main Features of the Planning Tool

  1. Access control concept

Users can only view and edit the data and functions that have been authorized for them.

  2. Automated PDF generation

Quotes are automatically generated with branding, bills of materials, prices, and yield forecasts, and made available for download.

  3. Additional features

Support for Long/Lat input for specific regions without exact addresses.

  4. Data integration

All quote data is seamlessly transferred into ERP/CRM systems to ensure efficient further processing.

Our solution

The Planning Tool combines a sophisticated authorization concept with powerful calculation algorithms. Sales representatives can enter detailed parameters to create personalized quotes, which are automatically transferred into ERP/CRM systems.

Special challenges

  • User roles control access to functions and data. Sales can view their own deals and, if applicable, others' deals.

  • Consideration of obstacles (e.g., chimneys, windows) and location data (Long/Lat) for addressless regions.

  • Custom PDF quotes with branding, bills of materials, prices (including VAT), and yield forecasts.

Summary of the project

The Autarq Planning Tool optimizes the sales process through precise and personalized quote generation. With a robust authorization concept and automated PDF results, the tool significantly enhances the efficiency and accuracy of sales representatives. Seamless integration into ERP/CRM systems ensures a smooth workflow and improved customer support.

Example applicationDrawing Tool

What we did

In close coordination with Autarq, an intuitive drawing tool was designed, based on real workflows. Drawing on practical experience, we implemented the application technically for seamless integration into the planning process.

Project Goal

The Drawing Tool allows users to create detailed technical drawings for the roof projects that were previously calculated using the Planning Tool. Authenticated users can precisely determine where solar roof tiles, cables, and other components should be placed on the roof. This tool serves the final visual planning and technical implementation.

Special challenges

  • Access is granted only to authenticated users via SSO and MFA. The authorization concept defines who can load and edit which drawings (deals).

  • Precise drawing of roofs with solar roof tiles, cable layouts, and obstacles.

  • PDF generation, zoom, copy-paste, delete, as well as tile, cable, and layout planning.

Our solution

The Drawing Tool enables sales and technical staff to create precise technical drawings for projects. It takes into account tile placement, cable layouts, and obstacles. Users can load, edit, and adjust drawings. Features such as zoom, PDF generation, upload/download, as well as planning of cable runs and emergency reserves are integrated. Tile types can be drawn, and material quantities can be documented accurately.

Laptop with the Autarq drawing tool

Main functions of the Drawing Tool.

  1. Digitally capturing roof surfaces.

With the Drawing Tool, solar roofs can be easily and precisely planned directly in the browser. This creates an accurate digital foundation for further planning in just a few minutes.

  2. Occupancy and cabling planning.

After capturing the roof data, the tool allows for a realistic placement of solar modules and cabling. This prepares for a technically feasible implementation.

  3. Data export

Once the planning is complete, relevant project data, including the graphical representation of the occupied roof, can be exported. The exported information serves as a basis for roofers during on-site implementation.

Summary of the project

The Drawing Tool complements the Planning Tool by providing visual and technical planning for projects. Authenticated users can create precise drawings that are used in the final execution and installation. All relevant details, from the position of the tiles to cable plans, are part of the visual representation, enabling clear and accurate implementation of solar roof projects.
